The Festival Newspaper about HEISA: a clothing brand that goes just as well as you do at a festival

Have you seen the black and white t-shirt of Jan Versteegh with that split-love ice cream? That was the new clothing brand HEISA. We spotted them at Welcome to the Future and Komm Schon Alter, but they were also at Mystic Garden and Solar. What is HEISA and what can you do with this brand?
Fuss: fashion of refined, organic quality.
A shirt with ping pong or super soakers, a hat with rockets, a sweater that evokes a nostalgic 80's and 90's kids feeling. That is HEISA. "HEISA is a unique clothing brand that exudes the free life. The colorful collection consists of striking designs that often have a double meaning. Of course with attention for the planet, by working with organic cotton" explains the founder.
Highlights
In March, the new HEISA collection was released. That was one of the highlights, because it set out the vision of HEISA. But there was more. For example, HEISA was able to have its own stand at many festivals and it also received requests from clothing stores that wanted to sell their clothing. Unfortunately, Lowlands and Pinkpop were already full. "But", says the founder, "we heard afterwards that Lowlands was flooded with HEISA astronauts". So a stand would have been superfluous in retrospect.
Oh yes, hottie Jan Versteegh spotted the brand and wore his favorite shirt during every broadcast he presented this summer. But other celebrities also picked up HEISA. Like Manuel Broekman with the HEISA cap, presenters at Drugslab and other TV heroes. If you are even a little fashion-conscious, hip or sustainable (or you just tie Jan Versteegh very nicely), you can't stay behind. Your chance will come soon in the form of a new collection.
A new winter collection
This year HEISA is coming with its first real winter collection. The founder describes the new collection as "colourful, catchy and with "inside jokes" in the designs". So indeed the rockets and ping pong balls we were talking about. The collection builds on the current collection, but then more focused on winter. How about a HEISA hat, for example? And the timing couldn't be better: it can be yours in October.
Amsterdam Dance Event
ADE is also just around the corner and that means a lot of good things for HEISA. "I can't make any specific statements yet, but you can expect that you won't be able to miss us during ADE." Puppy eyes help, the founder is happy to give a little hint about HEISA at ADE. "We are currently working on a plan to sell our clothing as a showcase in a number of trendy clothing stores in Amsterdam. We also want to position HEISA as a typical Dutch product, to make it attractive to internationals. A specific design that symbolizes stereotypical Holland in a funny way, for example with Dutch windmills."
Future plans
When asked about HEISA's further plans for 2019, the founder says enthusiastically: "Next year we want to add more colours, designs and variants to the collection. For example, swimming trunks with all-over prints and all kinds of other fun accessories."
HEISA has big plans, especially long-term plans. "We want to take the promotion at festivals to a higher level with our own stand. Not a normal stand, but one in the shape of a spaceship. We are also working on all kinds of fun collaborations. Maybe we will see you in a few years at our own HEISA festival, somewhere in space."
